Quick-Service Restaurants Add Sight and Sound Experience

One of the world’s largest metropolitan quick-service restaurants greets customers with high-tech audio/video electronics mixed with memorabilia, reflecting the restaurant’s personality and history in a sight and sound experience. Driven by Kramer Electronics and Sierra Video Systems product, visitors experience crystal clear audio and stunning video on over 15 LCD displays throughout the two-story restaurant, all powered by the Sierra Video Systems 3232V5 matrix switcher. Screen content from DVD and satellite video sources is managed from the switcher’s control panel. The system also includes three Kramer Electronics VP-719DS ProScale™ digital scaler/switchers, and a myriad of Kramer cables, resulting in a seamless installation that delivers extremely high quality video images throughout the restaurant. include news and sports, informational messages, collages of memorabilia and the restaurant’s historic commercials.

Leading sound, lighting and AV designers and installer’s Metropolis AV and FX has completed the design, supply and installation of an entire lighting, sound and AV system at the new Sports Café in Glasgow.
The £1.7m project has seen an empty building in Glasgow’s famous Sauchiehall Street, turn into a busy, 1600 capacity, modern sports-themed environment. The building has a colourful history; it was a local ABC cinema before being converted in the latest Sports Café Bars roll out. During the renovation, whilst digging for the service trenches, an array of animal pits were discovered which dated back to when the building was used by Hadlers Circus, complete with livestock housed in the basement.

The Queens hotel was constructed in 1937 by architects W Curtis Green and WH Hamlyn. A Grade II listed building, it was in its day the hotel in Yorkshire. Acquired by Quintessential Hotels, the 213 roomed hotel was in much need of attention to reinstate it as the premier conference and banqueting venue in the city.
